Material handling equipment

Material handling equipment is a family of self-propelled vehicles designed to implement a wide range of construction and handling operations.

Material handling equipment includes both machines on rubber-tired chassis (usually having two wheel axles) and those on crawler chassis, equipped with a hydraulic lifting boom with a working body mounted on it. Moreover, some models have a telescopic-type boom that allows lifting the load to a height of over 20 meters. Control of the vehicle motion and of the boom lifting is conducted from a specially equipped operator's seat.

It should be noted that the design of most modern types of material handling equipment allows for mounting various types of working bodies, which is the basis of extreme versatility of such equipment. In particular, these attachments include:

• excavating equipment (buckets, blades, drills, jackhammers);

Apart from the main lifting boom, material handling equipment can carry additional attachments, and the significant motive force typical of most of these machines (except only for skid steer loaders) allows using them for towing operations.
