Pallet stackers

A pallet stacker is a kind of material handling equipment, a light forklift.

The main objective of this type of equipment is carrying out of the handling operations, as well as piling cargoes in pallets (hence the name of the equipment itself) or on shelves. To implement these tasks, the pallet stackers are equipped with a pallet fork with a hydraulic or mechanical hoisting system. The fork may be oriented either to the front or to a side.

In fact, the pallet stackers are the smallest representatives of the family of forklifts. Depending on the specific model, these machines can be hand-driven or self-propelled (in the latter case, the movement is performed by power of electric motor), but in both cases, as a rule, they do not have an operator's cab - instead of this, the self-propelled pallet stackers have a folding or a fixed footboard.

In the broad sense, this group also includes, in particular, order pickers, hand pallet trucks, electric pallet trucks and even reach trucks (unlike most, the latter ones are equipped with an operator's cab).
